A Sledding-Cookie-Pizza Party

Our dear friends Aunt T., Uncle M. and Cousin C. missed my birthday celebration last weekend because they had company.  Today they were sweet enough to make up for it and then some by inviting the bunch of us over to their house to try out their new stove.  We had tons of good food to eat including homemade chicken cordon bleu pizza and dead president cake.

The biggest excitement for the kids was sledding on their nice hill.

Did I say the kids?

Yes, Uncle M. took a great trip down the hill too, kids laughing and screaming in excitement…

…until he had to take a dive to avoid bowling over KarateKid!  One trip down the hill and one pair of wet jeans was enough for Uncle M.

The kids kept sledding until dark, though, and had fantastic fun.

After the kids came in, they kept busy in the playroom while the grownups munched on cookies, watched football and played two new games, the ultra-random “We Didn’t Playtest This” and the satirical, not-safe-for-kids Trailer Park Wars, where our goal was to run the best trailer park and collect the most plastic lawn flamingos.  I now own a game that comes with a bag of 100 tiny plastic flamingos!

Everyone had a blast, and the kids fell right into bed when we got home.  What a fun way to extend my birthday celebrations!

Good Night 01-16-10

I won’t forget GoGoGirl’s best lines of the night, which included asking Uncle Jer where his husband was (he’s single at the moment, and she later said “that’s okay, I’ll be the husband.”) and asking what was up his nose. He laughed and replied, “Nose hair. What’s up your nose?”  The honest answer? “Boogies.”

It was a great night. Happy one-more-birthday-Party to you! Sorry we skipped out, but my poor hubby got miserable.

I can’t wait for her to ask me that. “A septum piercing retainer!” :D
