Review & Contest: Prima Princessa Presents Swan Lake
Regular readers know BabyGirl loves to dance and sing – she’s a music girl! Last week, Prima Princessa provided a review copy of their kids’ ballet dvd to Mom’s Marbles (my, ahem, other blog!). Being the only one of the three Mom’s Marbles Moms with a tutu-wearer at home, I was lucky enough to receive the dvd to review! Here’s a trailer:
Stephanie and Mary Kate were stay-at-home moms, frustrated in their search for a ballet dvd that wasn’t too dumbed-down, wasn’t too complicated, but was just right. They produced this dvd themselves with the help of the Paris Opera Ballet and students from the School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center. The dvd is a good mix of clips of segments from Swan Lake, narrated and professionally danced, and segments with an animated ballerina (that’s Prima Princessa) and a group of tutu-clad little girls trying out various ballet steps. It’s a good balance of watching & doing, and my kids enjoyed it.
Of course BabyGirl enjoyed it! It’s music and movement. JediBoy enjoyed the story of Swan Lake and also was proud that he learned the ballet terminology included in the segments. This was a great dvd for engaging the kids and teaching them along the way. It would be a nice addition to a unit study on ballet, or dance in general, or – swans? 
This dvd is available at stores nationwide as well as at Amazon. Stephanie and Mary Kate are working on more dvds in the series, and I can only STRONGLY suggest they work on The Nutcracker before next holiday season! I would love that for my kids.

There is no one on your reader list whose tutu wearer would love this DVD more than my Anna.

My daughter would love it if I won this….she just loves ballet and would run around all day in a tutu!
