Tonight we’re celebrating BabyGirl’s moreover day. She’s spent more time over here (the US) than in Guatemala - 11 months and 12 days there, now 11 months and 13 days here. We needed to take a family snapshot to send with our one year post-placement review, and here it is.

Happy, happy Moreover Day to our beautiful BabyGirl and her family. Big kisses. *MWAH!* I am looking forward to celebrating in November, too, with my birthday buddy. I am thinking a food festival theme would be perfect when we have our photo taken together.

I didn’t know there was a name given to some adoptions, like Moreover Day. I like that. We adopted through the foster care system and I did secretly keep track of the day that my youngest, and then my oldest, had spent more time with us than their previous experience. It must be human nature to embrace the time period that we truly belong together.
