JediBoy has had a loose upper tooth since well before the wedding, probably around the beginning of July. He stopped eating at the front of his mouth and won’t dare eat anything hard there like a raw apple or corn on the cob. By this point, he’s had two short bleeds, false alarms obviously, and his tooth can stick out at almost a 90 degree angle!
This morning, he started making this snaggletooth face that reminds me of his Uncle Crit - who, when he was younger, would make the goofiest, craziest faces when I pulled out my camera. It makes me crack up laughing, so here’s my picture of today’s joy:
We’ve had kind of a cranky day in other respects - it started with a late breakfast, bad moods and a missed chance to meet up with friends for berry-picking - but we managed to get ourselves together to go out and see a magician at the library this afternoon, and we’ve been playing a lot of Super Munchkin too. JediBoy filled out his form to get a free book from Barnes & Noble - the first reading-reward system he’s ever done, and boy was he proud to pick out The Tale of Desperaux and bring it home, all for himself! I’ve said before that I don’t like those programs as an incentive to get him to read (which is NOT a problem), so I phrase them to him as an incentive to keep track of what he reads, and that seems to work for us. He even had a great conversation with the salesclerk because one of the books he chose to list was Stuart Little, which he has read two or three times on his own this summer.
