JediBoy is still struggling with his virus / sinus infection. Yesterday he was back to coughing again and in the evening complained of pain in the insides of all his joints - the backs of his knees, insides of his elbows, armpits, etc. We took him to see the on-call doctor this morning who thinks it is just a rampaging sinus infection that wouldn’t stop for amoxicillin, so we ramped up to augmentin. He’s been sick to his stomach most of the day too - all that nasty phlegm.
I did go out to a few garage sales this morning and pokescored - I found a comic, a trainer’s guide, a look-and-find book, an old pokedex/calculator and a tin of about 200 pokecards (plus energy) - so he is in pokeheaven. It’s nice to be able to give him something else to focus on.
PisecoDad has been reading the His Dark Materials trilogy and playing the Golden Compass game on the Wii, so tonight he went out and picked up the dvd of The Golden Compass (which we missed in the theaters). We all enjoyed it, on various levels. JediBoy loved the ice bears, PisecoDad enjoyed comparing it to the book and game, and I loved that the nest of pillows on the folded-out couch kept both my kiddos coming to me for cuddles. BabyGirl is usually so active that to get two full hours of cuddles from her was a special treat.
I feel stuck in a holding pattern with JediBoy being so sick - we haven’t been going out as much and I haven’t been seeking out projects, activities or special books. At the same time, I have it in the back of my head that his first “official” year of homeschooling starts in less that two months, and I’m trying to decide on the best way to organize my ideas to make the most of our time together.
