Not At The Table, Dear

My dad and his wife are here for a visit before they head back to South Africa. I’ll be scarce online while they’re here, but I wanted to share this from dinner:

JediBoy and Pappy were playing at the restaurant, having french fries use toothpicks as lances to fight. As tensions mounted, JediBoy called out, “I’ll kill you, Pappy!”

To which PisecoDad promptly responded, “We don’t say that at the table!”

Hm. Where is the proper place to threaten to kill your grandfather?

ROFLOL! This from PisecoDad? The same PisecoDad who knows a very funny birthday song with a similar sentiment? Oh, yes, I heard about the birthday song. And we don’t offer sentiments like that on someone’s birthday. Tsk tsk. ;-)

LOL. That’s funny.

Excellent Parenting Moment, PisecoPop!

And, just for the sake of discussion, I have to disagree with P. and say that there is a vast ethical difference between reminding someone that their demise is imminent, and deciding to be the instrument of that demise!

Hope Pappy didn’t bite it via toothpick sword!

In this case, obviously the proper place for YOUR son to threaten to kill HIS grandfather is in a Geek tragedy. :D
