Today (April 12) is Beverly Cleary’s birthday, and in honor of that it is also National D.E.A.R. day - Drop Everything And Read. It was the name of the reading program at the school that Beezus and Ramona attended and has now been adopted in schools and libraries across the country.
Of course, most homeschoolers drop everything and read with their kids nearly every day! Today we’ll be reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle and maybe Henry and the Clubhouse, two of JediBoy’s favorite Beverly Cleary books.
