We had a lovely, if windy, morning at the park. Some of our friends - who we’ve known since the big kids were born in the summer of 2002 - put together an informal egg hunt. I got there a little early with my kids and we had a nice time watching birds, swirls of snow and the water rushing in the culvert. It was snowy and blowy but lots of fun.
When the dozen kids were too cold to keep playing, we drove to the neighborhood pizza place for a rowdy lunch together. We finished off with Heather’s bunny cakes… which, as you can see, were GOOD.
When we drove home, the last three traffic lights before my house were all out, with police or fire volunteers at each intersection directing traffic. Sure enough, when we came in the house our power was out too. BabyGirl was sleeping, but JediBoy and I curled up together - he with paper, pencils and scissors to create some wonders, and me with a puzzle book. The power just came on a few minutes ago, kicking the heater back on before the house got too cold.
