First, a plug - at Game Giveaway of the Day, they are featuring a free download of Ingenious, a computer game based on a design by Reiner Knizia, a prolific designer of “eurogames.” Ingenious is a tile-laying abstract strategy game, where you earn points for each tile of a color that matches the tile you lay - but your overall score is determined by the color in which you have scored the least amount of points, so you have to try and build all the colors fairly equally. I just downloaded the computer version and played for a while with JediBoy, who enjoys the matching aspect. If you’re interested, you’ll need to download AND install it before midnight tonight.
We’ve had a slow, peaceful day here. In many ways, it has been a repeat of yesterday. The kids have been asking for the same books (Silly Sally and the St. Patrick’s Day books from JediBoy, Jamberry from BabyGirl) and doing mostly the same activities (JediBoy cutting out new animals for yesterday’s creation and playing Wii Sports, BabyGirl eating endlessly and following her brother around). Our only news to report is that after four months of teething, one of BabyGirl’s eyeteeth finally had popped through this morning. One tooth down, seven more on their way.
It’s a gray and gloomy day today, unlike yesterday’s energizing sunshine. So we won’t make another late-afternoon trip to the park, but we’ll just have to enjoy the pictures from yesterday.
[As I was just about done with the post, mid-afternoon, the HSJ server went down for a while - I’m glad it’s back up in time for some of you to still get the game download.]
