Cozy Play

Today we woke up to a dusting of snow on the ground, for the first time this season.  JediBoy was very excited, and throughout the morning he’d come running up to me to report on the size of the flakes falling or the amount of snow left on the ground.  It’s gone by now, but it was fun while it lasted.

If I sound like I’m in a good mood, it’s because I feel like we’re finally settling into our own routines and rituals as a family of four.  I can now tell the difference between many of BabyGirl’s cries, and I know the I’m tired, I want a bottle and bed cry and that it typically comes around 11 and around 3.  And she’ll now nap alone once she’s asleep, which is a huge help.  Just getting the routines of these naps helps make the day feel more predictable and comfortable.

We’ve had a very cozy day so far today, including cuddling in front of the heating vent, reading books, and having a classic lunch of pb&j with chocolate milk (while BabyGirl ate squash).  The kids have played alone, together, with me, alone, in a gentle dance.  We’ve been listening to some new Baby Loves Jazz cds and the kids found the best toy evah.
