I assume you can imagine why my blog has been quiet today. We had a full-on Robin Hood day! He wanted to be called “Rob” or “Robin” all day and was outside as much as the rain would let him, practicing shooting his (suction cup) arrows and slashing with his (wooden) sword. I was mainly Maid Marian (he does like to stick to gender lines) but when a particularly tricky moment would arise, he’d have me be Little John. When he set down his bow and hat, he’d most often wander over to his Papo figures. He did branch off for a while and play with a castle tower, Papo knights and a big stuffed dragon. But it was mostly Robin Hood.
He didn’t want to go to the portrait studio to pick up his knight pictures unless he could go home first to get his Robin Hood garb and have his pictures taken again. I told him he needed to wait until his actual appointment, Friday morning. You would have thought I was asking him to wait several decades before posing as Robin Hood!
We went out for dinner to a place with kids’ night activities, one of which was free drawings by a caricature artist (who is actually the brother of the orthopedist who takes care of JediBoy’s pinkie). So just guess, just make a wild guess what JediBoy said when the artist asked, “What should I draw you doing?”
