PisecoDad and I were in bed, watching our nightly CSI episode. Tonight it was one from early on in Miami season 2. At the end of the episode, the rich bad guy is taunting Horatio that he’ll get off because he can afford any lawyer.
Bad Guy: The best defense is money.
Horatio: The best defense is an honest life.
Me: (fake Southern drawl)The best defense is a good o-ffense. Know who said that?(/fake Southern drawl)
PDad: (even worse fake drawl)Mel, the cook on Alice. (/even worse fake drawl)
Only, his fake Southern drawl was SO BAD that I thought he said “Mal, the cook on Alice.” So now I have this indelible image of Mal (Nathan Fillion, Firefly) suddenly dropped into Mel’s Diner and forced to deal with Alice and Flo. I didn’t reckon on grits. It was so mindbendingly funny that when I came downstairs to pee, I had to share the joke with you.
