Camp Crafts

Okay, these are not what you might think of as “camp crafts,” but in our family we call our cabin in the mountains “camp.” And so, the cool things we make there are our own version of camp crafts.

This weekend, we made sand paintings. We thinned down some Elmer’s glue with water and then JediBoy fingerpainted with it on some nice colors of card stock. Once the glue painting was done, we sprinkled it with camp sand and let it dry. In an hour or so, we shook off the extra sand and this is what was left:

Another night, we took some of the rocks that JediBoy had collected. JediBoy wrapped them with gold craft wire and we helped him twist it tight and make a loop on each, then thread them onto some suede thong:

Ben loves the rock necklaces and so do I! He thinks the chipmunk looks like a mini bear. I sense two new crafts in our future. Glad you shared them.

GB thinks the bottom right corner of the second picture looks like an alien… LOL, that’s where his mind is these days.
I LOVE the rock necklaces. We must borrow these cool crafts! :-)
