Do You Dream in Legos?

I always had Legos.  My parents believed they were one of the best toys available, and though they seemed expensive they were actually much cheaper if you calculated the price per hour played…  Every holiday, there were Legos.

Naturally, JediBoy loves Legos too.  He has all of my old Legos and loves his new sets as well.  This week, he’s started re-exploring a bin of Bionicle parts we picked up for him last summer at a yard sale.  He’s been busy making and re-making all kinds of interesting “robots.”  If we’re in the house together but I haven’t heard from him in a while, chances are pretty good that he’s working with Legos.

Last night, I had my first Lego dream.

It was one of those dreams with a voice-over: sometimes I was narrating, and sometimes a Booming Movie Voice.  The story being told was about how life-changing an experience with high school drama club had been (funny, since I was in marching band, not drama club).  There were no humans in the dream, nor minifigs of any kind.  Just Lego blocks.  Mostly the yellow ones, from the yellow castles (my sister and I each had a yellow castle, so we have an abundance of plain yellow bricks).  As the story went on, the bricks grew, as if placed by an invisible hand, into a Lego stage and backstage area for some kind of play - something Shakespeare, or Shakespeare-esque.

Do you dream in Legos?

I’ve never dreamed in Legos - though we have plenty around the house. :-)

Did Birnam Wood, represented by a bunch of the little plastic trees held by Lego people, come to Dunsinane? :D
