St. Patrick’s Day Find-It

After we bought our Find-It Game at a thrift store a few weeks ago, our family and most of our friends have been entranced by it.  So today JediBoy and I made a homemade, holiday version.

We used rubbing alcohol and green food coloring to dye half a bag of rice green, leaving the other half white.  We filled an empty water bottle most of the way up with the green and white rice, then added:

a shamrock (button)
a leprechaun (confetti)
a blarney stone (pebble)
a gold coin (Chuck E Cheese token)
a gold ring
a gold sequin
a gold ribbon
a green pom-pom
a green hair band
a green Lite Brite peg
a green Lego block
a green jingle bell
a green tri-bead
a die
a plastic dove
a yellow wooden star
a googly eye

We made a second one in a juice bottle and took both when we went out to a belated birthday dinner for PisecoDad. They were very entertaining!

That is really cool, and very creative!

Thanks! We had a great time making them, and later brought the supplies to share with three friends so they could make their own. We’re thinking about doing a spring/Easter version using birdseed as the filler… :)
