Return to Egypt

We rearranged some things in JediBoy’s room today to make a proper home for this castle, which was one of his main presents at Christmas.  No, we don’t leave the castle assembled all the time - we love the fact that it’s modular.  But the drawbridge tower doesn’t disassemble easily so we decided to leave it together out on a shelf.  JediBoy then asked if we could put this dragon (which we bought at the thrift store last week for $1.99) with it.  Naturally, giant dragon and large drawbridge didn’t fit together on the top of the small bookshelf, so we switched some things around and now have dragon, drawbridge, miscellanious knights in various sizes, and basket of castle-related reading all on the top of his long dresser.  We took what had been on that dresser - his impressive Ancient Egypt collection - and put it on the other shelf.  Naturally this instantly renewed his interest in Ancient Egypt, so we spent a lot of time reading books and playing Old Mummy, the game that sparked his obsession in the first place.  (At three, he demanded to be Thoth for Halloween.)  But then again, we also read a nice version of Saint George and the Dragon.  I’m expecting some good cross-over stories to start coming out…
